| Bio: | General Information Name: Danielle Moonstar Nicknames: Dani, Moonstar, various other names she was called by her college friends. And Yellie, but call her that at your own risk. Codename: Mirage Age: 20 Gender: Female Powers Description of Powers: Nightmares. More nightmares. Occasionally a secret desire or two. General causing of angst. And the whole Dr. Doolittle thing. Appearance Height: 5’8” Eyes: Brown Hair: Dark brown Face & Complexion: Varies from light dark to, um, dark dark? Build: Tall and slightly muscular. She’s very physically fit, but not skinny. Dress Style: Aside from her stay at Weapon X that forced her to wear regulation clothes, Dani’s outfits normally consist of a tee-shirt or a tank-top and a pair of shorts or jeans. Dani always wears something to represent her heritage, though, whether it be arm bands, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, or belts. When it comes to dressing up, bathing suits, or just when she’s feeling particularly flirtatious, though, the skimpier the better. She’s quite fond of low-cut dresses, barely there shirts, and itty-bitty bikinis. Health Eyesight: Good Hearing: Good Physical Health: Excellent, mostly due to her time in the Weapon X program General Dexterity: Reasonably good Handicaps: Special Abilities: She’s an excellent horseback rider and an extremely skilled archer. From her time in Weapon X, she’s also reasonably skilled in hand-to-hand combat. She’s fluent in both English and Cheyenne, and can play the guitar fairly well. Psychology IQ: Above average Mental Health: Mostly sane. She wasn’t in Weapon X long enough to drive her completely crazy, although she can be pretty paranoid and also more or less hates herself for the things she did. She’s also prone to rambling on and on in her thoughts, which sometimes spills out into random run-on sentences spoken out loud. Sane is a relative term, right? Religious Beliefs: Pagan Extrovert/Introvert: Mostly extrovert, although occasionally she will want to be far, far away from people and everything else. Personality Goals/Dreams: Originally, it was to learn to control her powers, graduate college, make some kind of difference in the world, and get back on good terms with Pat Roberts. Then, it was to get herself and all of the other prisoners out of Weapon X. Now…well, she’s working on that. Quirks/Habits Biting her lower lip or playing with her hair when she’s nervous or bored; lots of absent, casual touching; occasionally speaking in Cheyenne Likes: Wide open spaces (and the Dixie Chicks, come to think of it), animals, horseback riding, rock-climbing, reading just about anything, animal documentaries, pineapples, chocolate, peanut butter, gummy candy things, music, her grandfather, her friends, cold weather, and has a secret fondness for those amazing police, car crash, sport injury, stupid people video things and the occasional sappy romance movie Dislikes: Being forced to do things against her will, being caged, people she cares about being hurt (especially if it’s her fault), animals being hurt (especially if it’s her fault and/or in her presence), bigots and bullies, vanilla ice cream, most things grape-flavored (bad, bad experience with Dimetapp as a kid), and rap music First Impression: Friendly, sometimes shy and sometimes flirtatious Background Occupation: Poor college student / Weapon X prisoner Education: About a year and a half of college Home: Medicine Bow Mountains, Colorado Finance: Well, Weapon X used to pay really well, but then it went under new management and now the pay just sucks Parents: William and Peg Moonstar (deceased), grandfather Black Eagle Siblings: None Personal History: Dani lived with her parents on a ranch outside of Boulder, Colorado until she was about ten. Then, she began having horribly vivid nightmares of her parents dying. Worried, her parents called her grandfather Black Eagle, who was a Cheyenne shaman. Before he could arrive, her parents were killed by a hunter when they were hiking in the forest. Dani moved to the Medicine Bow Mountains to live with her grandfather, but she was devastated. Eventually, Black Eagle managed to convince her that her parents’ death wasn’t somehow her fault, and that her nightmares were actually a result of a mutant power. She learned that her nightmares weren’t really dreams, but fears or desires pulled from the minds of her friends, family, and even herself. She could even make these images seem real, pull them from the mind of whoever she focused on and bring them to life. Black Eagle wanted to help her control this power, but all Dani wanted to do was pretend it didn’t exist. She also discovered her connection to animals, which she adored and used as often as possible. Dani adjusted to life in the mountains and it began to feel like home. When she entered high school, she discovered boys and her own fondness for flirting and began dating. Sort of a lot. Nothing serious, until she took a closer look at her childhood friend Pat Roberts and realized there was more than friendship there. The two began dating late in their sophomore year and remained committed to each other until they graduated high school. Like Pat and most of her other high school friends, Dani applied to a college about three hours away from home. In the summer before college, though, Dani accidentally used her power on Pat and caused him to live one of his deepest fears. Freaked out, he dumped her and the two avoided each other all summer. Pat didn’t tell any of their friends, though, so Dani was still able to maintain her relationship with them. They went to college, and although Pat was out of her life, Dani made more friends, kept her old ones, and was generally happy. Then, Pat called her and apologized for reacting the way he did. They went out for coffee a few times, and seemed to be on their way to at least being friends once more, when Dani was attacked walking back to campus one night. She woke up in the Weapon X facility. At first, Dani rebelled. She refused to do anything they asked, no matter what they did to her and constantly tried to escape. She was kept in isolation for a few weeks, then finally a couple of dogs were brought in and killed in her presence. Feeling them die shocked Dani into obedience and she starting doing everything Weapon X wanted, fearing they would hurt her grandfather, friends, or more animals. After another week or so, Dani was given a cell and allowed to associate with the other prisoners. Though unsure of who she could trust, she didn’t want to be alone and pretty much clung to their company. She found sort of comfort with Kurt Wagner, in a weird, twisted way that started out with sex. And continued with sex, but also with mutual rambling conversations and such. Dani didn’t make friends, couldn’t in that situation, but she did have other prisoners whose company she enjoyed, and who wanted to get out. And, who she figured might help her break out. She continued to plot escape, just more quietly than before.
